Cleanup of the Eklutna Army Site encountered an area suspected by the Tribe as a burn pit from the former DoD operations.  Chilkat was able to deduce from field investigation that the site was a former helicopter landing.  Patterns in vegetation aligned with historic magnetic north that had since changed 8 degrees. Sampling was performed for Dioxin and other contaminants but no contaminants of concern were identified. Tribal concern about this site was resolved.
